O Come, All Ye (who are tempted away from the path...)

Here is Noelle's third set of PP lyrics, this time to be sung to the tune of O Come, All Ye Faithful - this one has more of a tone of Bunyan's warning Christian's not to fall for the supposedly easy path to salvation by way of Legality and Morality suggested by Mr Worldly-Wiseman. The gentle alternative path turns quickly into a demandingly steep hill to a mountain of demands of the righteous Law of Mt Sinai, which threatens to fall on Christian's head... (Bunyan's debt to his reading of Matin Luther's Commentary on Galatians is very much to the fore in this clear contrast of Law and Gospel.)
