Professional Accomplishments

PROFESSOR OF THEOLOGY

August 2023 -

Deepening research into reception of The Pilgrim's Progress. Co-editor (with Margaret Breen) of Norton Library edition (forthcoming). Author of a book on multi-faceted reception (tentatively) titled Into the Pilgrimverse (in progress). Working on projects with multiple products on: Bunyan's Bible; a Marginalia Project, on Readers Annotations in copies of The Pilgrim's Progress (preliminary presentation at the Annual Conference of the Evangelical Theological Society Annual Conference, 2023); and a sample Variorum (collation of) Commentary on the episode of the Cross in PP Part I. Contributor to an edited book on Global Bunyan and Visual Art (Lexham, forthcoming).

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF THEOLOGY

Developing and teaching an online/hybrid upper undergraduate course on The Pilgrim's Progress as part of Biola University's Biblical and Theological Studies Minor. A Member of the International John Bunyan Society, presenting at the 2019 Triennial International Conference, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Publishing on contemporary reception of The Pilgrim's Progress. External Reviewer for Bible Department of University of Northwestern, St. Paul, MN. Chair of inaugural Faculty Senate. Received Biola University Provost's Award for Excellence in the Integration of Faith and Learning.

Teaching Systematic Theology, developing courses on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Stanley Hauerwas, Sacred Space, Co-teaching Bible and Art, Politics and Christian Thought, Psychology and Christian Thought. Presenting at the Evangelical Theological Society Annual Conferences on ethics and politics of preaching.
